. 1.1. How can I make a reservation
in Paris?
Select your dates of stay, the number of people coming and
your criteria of choice on the website. A list of flats corresponding
to your demand will appear, with a brief description and the
cost of your stay. Click on «Knowing more» to
know about the features of the flat. Once you have made your
selection, click on «Reserve». Fill in the application
form, and your reservation and your invoice will appear. To
validate it, you can either send the photocopy of your identity
card, or the number of your credit card which will serve as
a deposit during your stay in Paris. You will receive an e-mail
of confirmation as will your future host. As soon as we receive
confirmation from your host, we will ask you to send us QUICKLY,
by e-mail, your confirmation and, if needs be, any missing
elements (identity card, number of credit card, address, etc.).
. 1.2. Why must I provide my credit card number?
Your credit card avoids your having to pay exchange commission
and constitutes a deposit
of your payment and for any possible damage in the flat. As
in hotels in general, the credit card serves as a guarantee
during your stay. It’s only used after receiving your
signed agreement (your reservation form) or after the inventory
of fixtures has been signed with the owner of the flat. Any
possible damage will be financially dealt with in common agreement
between the parties concerned and Parisloding will use it
in accordance with the general legal conditions of the Banque
Populaire Rives de Paris that deals with standing orders for
Parislodging. Parislodging reserves the right, on request
of the owner and on the basis of the inventory of fixtures
signed by you, to defer, through your credit card the amount
of money involved as long as necessary. As you are responsible
for any damage
you may have caused, we propose that you take an insurance
policy covering this type of risk.
In case of litigation, if conciliation has failed, Parislodging
will use your credit card only after a decision in its favour
by the tribunal court, any expenses involved to be paid by
the guilty party.
. 1.3. Why don’t you have a
safe site ?
As we need to know your credit card number for the deposit
covering the rented flat, we cannot go through a safepayment
site. For this reason, we give you the possibility of communicating
your number either by fax, telephone or mail if you do not
wish to give the number using Internet.
.1.4. Why must I provide a photocopy of my identity card ?
The owner of the flat you wish to rent must commit
him(her)self to keeping open an option on his flat until we
receive all the documents. We ask you to commit yourself by
sending either your credit card number or a photocopy of your
identity card which will serve as confirmation of your details
and validation of your payment
. 1.5. What is the date of the banker’s order
?
As soon as your reservation is confirmed by e-mail
or any other written means, and in order to make your reservation
in Paris final, we will take 50% of the amount of your rent
as an advance payment which is not refundable. The balance of
your payment will be taken directly from your credit card 20
days before your arrival. After this delay, no repayment will
be made. In cases of a reservation in Paris lasting more than
one months, we shall take one month of rent as an advance payment
at the time of the reservation, then each month, the rent will
be taken from your credit card at the beginning of the month.
. 1.6. What is the advantage of using Parislodging
?
Parislodging offers you a large variety of flats
with detailed descriptions, a personalized follow-up for requests
and reservation in Paris, specific rules and guarantees from the owners
and an on-going relationship with us. Moreover, in
case of litigation, Parislodging can act as an intermediary
between you and the flat owner in order to help resolve any
problems.
. 1.7. What type of payment do you accept ?
The payment can be made by credit card only (Visa,
Eurocard, Mastercard, American Express). However, we do accept
credit transfer, or payment by French cheques or cash provided
that you have a credit card. If this is not the case, you
will be required to submit in advance a certified cheque for
the sum equivalent to the invoice of the reservation. These
guarantees in the form of cheques are accepted for reservations
made 20 days before arrival at the premises only.
. 1.8. I
have already made a reservation in the past, how can I make
another one ?
Once you have selected your flat, you simply click
on « Reserve », then enter your login (phone number
preceded by the letter « c » for client) and your
password. You will have access to a model of your invoice
which you then validate by sending your credit card number
or a photocopy of your identity card.
1.9. How will I receive my reservation in Paris?
You will receive your reservation by e-mail through
a link which will allow you to print it but please return
it duly signed,
together with any elements missing and the elements missing
such as address, identity card, etc. The address of the flat
and other details (phone number, name, door code, etc.) are
indicated on the reservation in Paris.
. 1.10. I cannot get in contact with my host. What
should I do ?
On the reservation form, you will find all the necessary
details (e-mail, land line, cellular, office, home). You must
absolutely call your host before your journey.
.1.11. What happens when I arrive at the premises ?
When you arrive in Paris, go directly to the address
at the time indicated on the reservation. If you arrive to your
place or leave it before or after the hour fixed at the time
of your reservation was established (one hour delay is accepted),
you will be charged a sum of 30 euros. If you arrive any later and you did not
forewarn your host, he is not obliged to wait for you.
Your host receives you to show you the flat, sign the inventory
of fixtures (on which the number of electricity and gaz
units are written) and give you the keys. The flat should
be clean and the machines in working order (TV, washing machine,
etc.). Do not hesitate to ask any questions and check that everything
is in order.
If the number of guests exceeds the number expected (including
animals), your host may refuse the additional people.
. 1.12. When I leave, what should do ?
At the time indicated on the reservation form, your
host or somebody representing him will come and check that the
flat has been left clean (except for the sheets and towels,
which you don’t have to wash). Then he writes on the inventory
the last figure of the electricity, gas and water units you
have consumed and you will have to pay him for these extra charges
which are not included in the price of the rent . You are responsible
for the cleanliness of the flat before you leave. If it is necessary
to clean it again after your departure, it will be indicated
on the inventory of fixtures and the amount would be taken from
your credit card. In the
case of serious and voluntary damage of your own doing, Parislodging
will initiate legal proceedings against you for damages (for
more details, see General Conditions).
.1.13 What are the risks involved in this kind of
system ?
If your stay has been well prepared, if you have
called your host in advance and asked preliminary questions,
there are more
advantages than risks. The important thing is not to damage
the variety of personal things which are in the flat that
make it cosy and nice compared with a hotel room.
.1.14. I made the reservation but
I am not the person who will be occupying the flat. What name
should I give ?
You must indicate the name of the person who is going
to occupy the flat but you must send the photocopy of the
identity card of the person who will pay with his credit card
.1.15. I need a receipt or a bill for the rent
You will find these elements on your personal space which
you can see on our welcome page.
. 1.16 What happens if I am not at the rendez-vous
?
If you did not call your host, he will wait for one
hour only. After that time, he is not obliged to stay to give
you the keys. You will have to call him and take another appointment.
If you have to take a hotel for the night, you will not be
reimbursed.
1.17. What happens if I cannot come ?
As soon as we receive from you an e-mail or any other
written confirmation, and in order to make your reservation
final, 50% of the total payment will be taken from your credit
card as an advance payment which cannot be reimbursed. The rest
will be taken from your credit card 20 days before you arrive.
After this date, no reimbursement
will be possible. If you wish to cancel your reservation in
Paris 20 days before your arrival, you must confirm this by
recorded delivery letter so that we do not debit your credit
card. Only modifications of the reservation details (dates,
number of people, etc.) which do not result in a lower price
may be taken into account where possible, and will necessitate
administrative fees. If you cancel once you have arrived, the
amount will not be reimbursed. In the case of cancellation by
your host, or in the absence of your host after the reservaiton
has been confirmed, he must find equivalent or better accommodation,
or reimburse the whole payment if no similar premises suit you.
At the time of making the reservation, we recommend that you
take out our cancellation and short-term rental insurance policy.
Thus, by paying a percentage on thetotal rent indicated on your
reservation form, in the case of cancellation,
you will be reimbursed for any advance payment, nor will you
have to pay the remaining rent as well as being covered for
any damage done in the flat (see General Conditions).
. 1.18. I have caused a damage in the flat, how can
I make a declaration ?
Either you pay directly for the damage to your host,
or you indicate it on the inventory of fixtures when you give
the keys back. The inventory will be transmitted to the our
insurance company who will reimburse directly according to
the conditions of our insurance policy (see General Conditions).
The amount will be taken from your credit card.
. 1.19. Do I pay for heating and lighting charges
? Will I receive a bill ?
You can either pay the owner directly, or add the
amount on the inventory. The sum will be then deducted from
your credit card or deposit. You will receive an invoice in
your personal space on our website.
. 1.20. If I change my reservation, are there any
extra charges ?
It depends on the changes. If a new reservation in
Paris is not necessary, it will be free. If necessary, a new
reservation will be made and you will be charged 30 euros administrative
fees.
.1.21 At what point is my reservation in Paris confirmed
?
As soon as we receive your credit card number, the photocopy
of your identity card, your signed confirmation and the confirmation
of your host, we will send you a confirmation e-mail.
. 1.22 Can I cancel my reservation
in Paris?
Yes, if we receive all the documents within 5 days after the
reservation in Paris is made. Once it is validated, any reservation in
Paris is considered to be the result of negotiations between
you and your host and is therefore considered as final.
Cancellation by you or the owner is subject to the general renting
conditions of Parislodging in accordance with the rules in force.
If you wish to cancel your reservation in Paris 20 days before
your arrival, you must confirm by recorded delivery letter so
that we do not debit your credit card. If you cancel once you
have arrived, the amount will not be reimbursed. In the case
of cancellation by your host, or if he is absent after the reservation
has been confirmed, he must find equivalent or better accommodation
or reimburse the whole payment, if no other similar premises
